At emgprd.org, we believe that meaningful volunteering starts with the right fit ā and grows from there. This article explains how we assign tasks, how we support your development, and what we are building for the future.
š How We Match You to Tasks #
Regardless of which role you applied for, every assignment starts with the same foundation: your CV and skills.
Our recruitment team reviews your professional background and experience to understand where you can make the most impact. At the same time, your own preferences matter ā during onboarding and as you grow within the community, you can tell us what kind of work excites you and what you want to learn.
Task assignment is therefore always a combination of:
- Your CV & demonstrated skills ā what you bring to the table
- Your own preferences ā what you want to work on and develop
š ļø What This Looks Like in Practice #
Once you have signed your Community Member Agreement and your workspace is set up, you will receive your first tasks. These are matched to your profile and the role you applied for.
As described in our Time Commitment & Hours article, every task comes with a clear deadline and fair scoping ā so you always know what is expected of you.
š± We Invest in Your Growth #
We are genuinely interested in you as a person ā not just as a task executor. That is why we actively encourage every Community Member to grow beyond their initial role.
Shadowing & Cross-functional Learning You are welcome ā and encouraged ā to shadow other teams and learn how different parts of the organization work. This is the fastest way to expand your skills and open up new opportunities within emgprd.org.
Personal Development Conversations If you want to develop in a specific direction, talk to us. We will listen, give honest guidance, and where possible point you toward resources, courses, or communities that can help.
External Courses & Resources We actively recommend and link to relevant learning resources. As a nonprofit we do not have a training budget, but we will always look into whether grants or funding options are available to support your development ā and advocate for you where we can.
š emgprd.org Academy & Internal Certifications (Coming in the Future) #
We are building something bigger. Our long-term vision includes:
- An internal Academy with structured learning paths
- Internal certifications that recognize what you have learned and built within our ecosystem ā whether in IT, operations, communications, or beyond
- Certifications you can present externally to show the world what you have accomplished with us
We are working toward alignment with international standards because we want our recognition to mean something ā both inside and outside our organization.
There is no fixed launch date yet, but this is a core part of what emgprd.org is building. As a Community Member, you will be part of that journey from the start.
